2. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Username — required to create an account. Displayed publicly within the App.
- Email address — optional. Provided at registration if you choose to supply it. Used only for account recovery.
- Password — stored as a one-way cryptographic hash (bcrypt). We never store or transmit your plain-text password.
- Posts and replies — text content you submit, including claims, questions, and discussion replies. Posts are visible to other users of the App.
- Profile photo — if you upload a profile picture, it is stored on our server and displayed alongside your posts.
Information we generate automatically
- Account creation date — recorded when you register.
- Watchlist and follows — topics you subscribe to and accounts you follow, stored to personalise your feed.
- Credibility score — a derived metric computed from the verification outcomes of your posts. Not shared externally.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect device identifiers, precise location, contacts, browsing history, advertising IDs, or any analytics telemetry.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To operate and display the App — showing posts, profiles, and feeds.
- To verify claims — the text of posts is sent to third-party fact-checking APIs (Google Fact Check Tools, Brave Search) solely to determine factual alignment. No account information is transmitted with these requests.
- To improve the App — server-side error logs may contain request paths and HTTP status codes. These logs do not contain account data.
- To contact you — only if you have provided an email address and only in response to a direct support request.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Fact Check Tools API — receives claim text to search published fact-checks. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Brave Search API — receives claim text to retrieve supporting or contradicting news results. Subject to Brave's Privacy Policy.
We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. User-generated content (posts, username, profile photo) is visible to other App users. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Data Retention
Your account and associated content are retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion by contacting us at contact@nobullnews.app. We will delete your account and associated personal data within 30 days of a verified request.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a work factor of 10. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information, but no system is completely secure.
8. Children
Nobull News is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting contact@nobullnews.app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated within the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
